Wellington-born Dave (& his wife Jenny), while on a 1 year trip around Europe were inspired by the free walking tours they encountered; an easy way for curious travellers of any pay-scale to get to know a city from someone who knows it well.

Guided tours can save you countless hours of research, allowing you to dive straight into discovering the heart of city. Looking in the wrong places or exploring at the wrong times can give you the wrong impression of city, making it feel lifeless, so our aim is to give you a glimpse of the life & vitality Wellington has to offer.

Dave is not sponsored to do this tour, instead relying on tips and his part time employment as a youth worker for the Wellington Boys’ & Girls’ Institute. Over the summer break Dave is trialling this venture; with an ultimate aim of employing some of the young people from the youth organisation as guides should the trial succeed.

It can be extremely hard for even the brightest and enthusiastic young people to find employment without prior working experience so this project aims to help them get a foot in the door whilst also building their confidence, commnunication skills and broadening their horizons as they meet visitors from all over the world.
